Memorial Trees Presented by the University of Tokyo

On May 7, 2009, YSFH received a Newton's Apple Tree and a Mendel's Grapevine from Koishikawa Botanical Garden of University of Tokyo. We hold a tree-plnating ceremony and Mr. Jin Murata, a director of the botanical garden gave a lecture for us.

Newton's Apple Tree

In a famous anecdote, Sir Isaac Newton is credited with discovering the law of gravity after being hit on the head from an apple falling from a tree. The tree responsible for this discovery and its propagules are cared for as a scientific monument.
